It depends on the bios, mine has an option to save overclocked settings.

i thought they were only if you used an OS based bios flasher, which is a stupid idea ofc

Nup my bios saves settings in the bios.

I don't see a problem with an OS one tbh, thats what i've used since they've been available.

very very risky in my opinion, ive never heard a bios from floppy/usb go wrong when done properly, but heard soe nightmares from OS based ones

Only problem i've ever had with a BIOS update was me flashing the wrong one from a floppy and thats in maybe 10 years of dealing with them.
