Of course you can drive that back to your house Steev. And yes, of course it will be illegal. When the police stop you, once they have finished laughing their arses off they will disembowel you at the roadside, then burn yours and the cars remains, and then they will kill all of your family too.

best bet IF you was 100% going to buy it is.
join the AA/RAC full cover about 30pounds a good few days before you plan on collecting the car.
Get the train down to Devon, once the car is yours ring the AA/RAC and tell them you have crashed and need recovery home.
