You want do for your budget. You will struggle to 1.7 diesel corsa.
If you want a 2.0 vectra, it would probs be the di and either have twice the milage or a little older

I paid within that budget for a 2001 vectra dti 2.0 estate with FSH mot and tax with 80k on it.
goes well after remapping and get 40+ mpg easily.

for what you want can't really suggest much... maybe a vectra? pop down the auctions if u have one local!
my 98 1.5td corsa is not worth more than £800 I guess tbh... even though condition wise its top and had loads of work on it but the mileage is 125k.... good cars if u can find one cheap - bullet proof engine
