Hi all, i've just signed up on here after being badgered by Norledge for the past week and half. so thought I would introduce myself.
Names Warren i'm from birmingham and drive a 106 GTI
I've been a member of PSOOC, FSC, GTIOC, and now once you guys get fully up and running in the near future will more than likely pay up for weekend racers when a membership scheme gets going.
Heres my progress thread off one of the other forums in the meantime.
Finally got round to taking some pics today so, thought I may aswell start my progress thread now...
The Old
Back In october me and a mate set off from Birmingham to Southampton to Pic up my new 106 GTI after looking around it and taking it for a test drive,(along with abit of hagling) I was the proud owner of a 2000 V plate, 60k, Black GTI
Day after I picked it up, Norledge offered to do the cambelt for me so we went up cleeve hill to take some pics
Then due to me not being too keen on the wheels, I was set on having white 205 1.9 alloys on, however I needed to loose the fox wheels ASAP as they were low on tread, so I borrowed a friends S2 Rallye steels then fell in love so I decided to get a set of brand new ones wrapped in new tyres.
While I was at it I sprayed the outer rim of the front badge black.
Then due to the exhaust having a slight leak I decided to buy a Pugsport Grp N exhaust off a member of 106 Owners...sounds much better:mf_dribble:
Also put a set of stickers on aswell:ninja:
Some how I managed to warp a front brake disc:Banned2: so rather than just get new discs I decided on getting a new setup instead.
I brought a set of 206 GTI 266mm discs, along with the calipers and pads from Norledge. Then painted them red(the chav in me came racing to the surface:mf_laughbounce2: )
quite close to the rim but closer the better:sly:
In between all these goodies I have also been machine polishing it
Before
After
Spec at the moment
-Standard GTI lump
-Nissans ally rad
-S2 Rallye steels
-206 GTI brakes
-Pugsport 2" exhaust
Things to come
- Lower 35-40mm on a setup(ain't decided yet)
- Colour code rub strips
- Colour code mirror base plates and sunroof surround
- De-badge and wiper the rear end
- Upper and lower OMP strut brace
- Green Enclosed Induction Kit
- Catcams with KMS wideband management
Hope you like and thanks for looking
**UPDATE** 01/02/2008
Did some tidying up in the engine bay today, didn't have much time though so excuse the bonnet, will polish that at a later date.
Sprayed the Bonnet lifters red along with the coil pack cover going gloss black.
**UPDATE 21/2/2008**
Not so much on the car, but look what was delivered today:mf_dribble:
Also went to GSF to fetch some new topmounts to go on...
And with the help of some very polite friends(true brummies:mf_laughbounce2 I would be happy if it went down this low front and back. Excuse the paint condition, I haven't got round to machining that side yet.
Car is booked in at Pug1off next tuesday so expect pictures around then
**UPDATE 23/2/2008**
Right i've been mincing a little:blush:, but i've finally got some pics since it was lowered last month.
Hope you all like it.
And my favourite because it shows off the bigger brakes:mf_dribble:
**UPDATE 03/04/2008**
After mincing about with machine polishing the car for the past 6 months, I finally got a week off work where it wasn't raining and finished it, it looks alot better now.
Also de-badged the rear end, also fitted my new rallye steels centre caps, haven't made up my mind what i'm going to do with them yet so gonna start Photoshopping different options.
Hope you like
No Swirls!!!:mf_dribble:
Excuse the ugly git in this one:crazy:
Reflections
Opinions welcome:cheers:

No mate, gonna make the engine more powerful to compensate but I may be buying a collegues Starlet Turbo off him if the price is right so this is either going up for sale or full on track car. All depends on where i'm gonna keep it.
