Anyone planned on doing it ? or done it ?

Standard weight of my 182 FF with the cup packs is 1089 KG..

Going of a power figure of around 170 BHP that works out at 158 BHP per tonne.

Now i've worked out if i remove my jack, rear seats and seat belts, parcel shelf, boot carpet will save me about 30kg..

Replacing the front two seats with some buckets will save me another 10kg or so all together thats a saving of 40 kg

Which would bring my BHP per tonne upto 164.5 ..

Increase of 6bhp which i think would make a fair bit of difference.. Anyway just something i've been thinking but not sure whether to go ahead with doing it and what it would be like to live with ?

well now my car on the road and its fully stripped i can say it not that bad to live with. sure little bit colder when u first get in and takes a while to warm up but apart from that unless u dnt like alot of noise its fine. you shouldnt have too much of a problemas u will still have carpet. doorcards etc

ive done it, and relocated my battery to the boot. its not too bad to live with just added noise. ive nearly finished painting the back of mine too, i kept the front carpet in for some reason. Itseasy to put it all back if you dont like it anyway.

All my past cars have been stripped to some degree or another, the most was my old 106 van, no dash heating etc etc, which was a bit silly for use as a daily as well.

The little shitty i'm driving atm has a book weight of near enough 680kg, i've stripped it down to my GRP bucket and the standard passenger... aiming for 600kg (A/C coming off etc etc but keeping standard panels) It's noisey (you can see the exhaust and floor past the gear selecter), but still has heating...

And i'll tell you... it really does make a difference... Acceleration is improved and imo road handling too

I'd say it'll help... if it noticable or not its hard to say...

Clios are uber lardy to start, so things can only get better!!

Do it, strip the nackers off it, if you dont like it it's only a bit of work to get it back to normal!

i'd go for it, i done a half hearted go at mine, rears has completly gone, but replaced with a cage, front may be going later in the year.
Cold mornings requires a coat to drive and you will need to get used to the noise, I found that the most annoy noise is the Rain water bein brought up from the road to the bottom of your car.
You soon get used to it though.

erm, I've taken my rear seats out? don't think it's saved me much weight tho

They feel like they only weigh about 5kg. but makes it sound a lot nicer in the cabin a sorta crisp fresh noise, rather than boomy.

If I had a clio 172 / 182 i'd be stripping it for track.

CLio sports are quite light in the back anywaywill just make it unstable when braking from what I have heard on CS

as it's my first time out I won't be stripping I want it exactly the same as when it is out on the road and tbh I like the leather too much
