as above has anyone fitted these to a sport?
what power did you gain?
anyone got a pik??
how hard are they to set up?
would they work well with other mods like: lightend flywheel , mild cam , fuel pressure reg , 4 branch and cat back system ?
i know what am doing but just need a helpful push in the right direction

standard engine would see 125-130 bhp. other mods such as cams, exhaust and manifold will help, get some decent ignition management and 150+ bhp is possible.
however, fitting old carbs onto a modern engine is a big step backwards in many ways. These engines love to be revved and will do so reliably with the right bits, for the ultimate x16xe look into throttle body kits and 200+ bhp is possible. see my project thread for info (link in my sig)

You need a lower inlet manifold that will accomodate the carbs first. Don't know if they are made for the x16xe?

they make inlets for the twin's on www.tuning.co.uk
so its possable to get near enuff 140bhp out of just they select tuning bits i just said cool

dont expect it to be massively reliable unless it is set up properly with some decent ignition management system that is mapped to suit.

Don't expect fuel economy to be up to much either. Carbs is the first thing i'd do if i was building a car for the local rally leagues, but not for a road car.

feul economy is'nt my priority and i hav'nt said what it's going to be used for ? have i i can't afford full throttle bodies so i'm going for the 40's cause there relitivly cheap in comparasion if i don't like the 40's i could upgrade later on money allowing lol

get carbs there is not much different in peak power compared to throttle bodies

really? have you built and tested both setups on the same engine?
in reality tb's will have a much better power delivery and more power. the inlet used with carbs kills about 10% of the power that a 30 degree inlet with tb's would make.

really?
A rally driver i know said he didn't feel much difference between the two but yeah the throttle bodies obviously have better delivery

You do usually find that tb'd and carb'd engines dont have a big difference in PEAK power(if the carbs are setup for max power, large enough chokes)
But thats the problem, a carb works with air speed, so you fit a big choke to get high revs/power, but loose all bottom end pull due to the air speed being too slow.
Fit a small choke and the engine will drive great low down, but struggle at high revs.
I bet twin 40s with small chokes would give more low down pull/torque than tb's, but sacrifice power.
