Had the MOT today, it failed on the following:

Both front chassis corrosion (needs welding)

Offside sill corroded (needs welding)

And the front right spring moves when its jacked up, and for some reason the coils used to adjust the suspension are fractionally touching the tyre.

Any suggestions to how i can resolve the bottom two.

Are they standard shocks, with lowered springs?

and what do you mean by coil used to adjust suspension is touching the car? Do you mean the spring itself is in contact with the car body?

Spax coilovers.

You have two black ring things, one to lock it off and one to wind either up or down to adjust the height.

bit pissed off, f*cking old cars!

in that case, to stop the spring moving about, just lift the car slightly, ie make the spring shorter by moving the spring platform higher up, therefore keeping the spring in compression when the car is in the air.

As for the second one, do the Spax coilies have camber adjustable holes in them, with an elongated hole at the bottom of the coilover where it bolts to the hub knuckle?

buy some helper springs, then you can move the adjusters further down and the springs wont move.

Welding is costing £80 all in, through a contact.
