...that has been bothering me for ages.. god hope its not the clutch  
when you accellarate it makes this weird rattling noise at the front (engine most likely???)..a bit like a loose exhaust but the exhaust isnt loose! like metal rattling noise!!..and its got worse over the last couple of months...
i notice it in the lower gears ..i guess because you are going slower and notice the noises more!
i really cant afford to know the actual problem tbh lol ..but its upsetting me
Will take it to a garage but, any diagnoses?

what engine is it? could be the timing chain.

does it sound really bad for the 1st few seconds on startup? is so, timing chain. my c had same prob

im sure its only when i accellarate tbh...
like rattling noise.. it stops when your doing a speed..just litrally notice it when starting off from stand still...

its like a blow in exhaust type noise/rattling/at the front! but not exhaust! exhaust looks fine....

does it rattle with a small amount of throttle? aye it does have a chain so could well be it.

the chain is on the right hand side of the engine "looking out the windscreen" you can't see it because it's covered, it's quite hard to replace really, expensive......yup for just parts it's over £100 quid

only 1.0 and 1.2 have chains in the C IIRC.
And for the record, vauxhall quoted £500+ to do mine and smaller independant garages were quoting anywhere between about £150 - £500 depending on how they chose to do it

nope, the later 1.4's had chains
but planty02 went to the right place to have his chain done

its making the nois higher revs aswell, so not just lower gears..
