i have a set of alloys that i want to spray a different colour.but how do i go about preparing them?????

Rub down with sandpaper gradually working your way down to very fine papers, wet and dry - if your picky...but it does make a difference

Clean with solvent, the your good to go.

Time taking during prep will pay off

really good thread in tutorials about how to do it mate, helped me alot when i did mine. but prep work is they key to a good result

That's not how you prep them. There is a painting tutorial in FAQ.

can someone please direct me to this guide because ive had a lok and the painting guide dont really help towards alloys.all i need to know is how much have i gotta sand off the alloys??

acid dipped, filler primer, flat with 600 wet and dry till smooth( or use a guide coat), panel wipe to decontaminate the surface from silicon ect, and spray to your own technique to wat paint your using

ok cheers guys.shall have a go.also looking at my picture u can see i have black plastic bumpers which i would like to keep as its something different.wot colour would best match up to the bumpers so that when i get it lowered they are a similiar colour

Go in Halfords and get colour matching!!

Take a bit of board in there and spray on some dark greys....let it dry and then match up against ya bumper.
