Hey folks, i picked up a cheap sport yesterday, only problem is the car is on standard shocks which i think are bust and cut standard springs, like cut in half, it bounces all over the road and is really unstable, now im only keeping the car for 6months till a year untill i sort my gsi out so im looking a cheap and cheerfull fix. Theres a shop up the road from me who have 60mm PI springs and KYB shocks. would this improve it or would it just be as bad?
cheers

Yes. Lots better.
Anythings better than cut springs! :O
Cut springs = Death.
Changing them should be a priority. Like a non driving until they are changed priority!

Yes i know bro, its really dangerous, just bounes up and down over the slightest bump. But will putting 60mm springs in kyb shocks not be similar ride? because the shocks arent shortened?

Nah will be a much improved ride.
It'll be like 60mm springs on standard shocks really. which many people on here run all day and year long.
And as you say you have suspicion the 1st shocks are in poor condition anyway. THus the set up you're thinking of sounds appropriate for the time period you plan to keep the car.

In all my corsas i've had 60mm gmax shocks and springs and thats all i know really, is there much difference in ride quality compared to just springs on kyb shocks and gmax full kit?

You'd notice the difference I'm sure.
But it will be notably better and safer than the situation at current.
Few options I guess;
-Get standard springs the now on the existing shocks.
-Get the set up from the shop near you for now.
-Get a full spring/shock kit.
Depends on how quick/easily/affordable you need and can get them respectively.
If keeping the car a while Id swap in some 2nd hand standard springs until you can source a matched lowering kit. But thats me!
