Anyone ever fitted an after market post-97 grill to a pre-97 bumper? The grill is a part of the bumper. I'm thinking I can cut it and sand it smooth and then just fit the grill with a little modifying. Anyone else done it?

yep its been done, and thats the way to do it
cut yours out, and screw the new one in, the bottom corners never look right though

been done quite a bit in the past mate...as you said, cut the old grill out and fit the new one in there
...the drawback is that the grills are a slightly different shape so there are gaps at the edges...I'm sure someone will be along soo with pics

I did it on mine and it doesn't sit right but unless you know what your looking at you wouldn't really notice. It looks better than before in my opinion.

I would just get hold of a post 97 bumper. Not exactly hard to get hold of.
