Ive just bought a 1.6 8v spi engine 73bhp out of an astra to go in my corsa sri as the cambelt smapped.
What im going to be doing though is running the engine of the sri inlet and loom.
Am i looking at any gains of power or not? I know it will probably a little lean though!
Thanks for any replies before hand, Li

why buy a 1.6 8v at 73bhp when the sri 8v is 82bhp and the 16v is 88bhp? why go down in bhp

its a spi engine and head.
he will be using the mpi inlet,
so therfore he will be going up.
only issue i can see is the ports being the same. and it may run a little lean.
the spi was lower in power due to it simply being spi, the mpi had the extra power due to it being mpi.
and long as it phisically bolts together, and the ports seal at least i cant see why it woont run about the same power with a little more torque
