Im starting the build on my new computer and I have a few questions.
Firstly....
I have a SATAII hard drive, do I just connect it up with the SATA cable and power as supplied or do I have to use IDE first so I can install an operating system on it?
There will be MANY questions comming so please keep any eye on the thread

I expect this will not answer his many more questions to come .
It might take you a few hours to put together. If like me you were anal about cable routing and neatness and went crazy with zip ties and cable mounts

Im having trouble mounting the DVD drive, there dosnt seem to be any cage supplied for it and the screws that they supply dont look as though they will do any good. I suppose the DVD drive can be a semi external as a temp measure to get it up and running

the DVD drive screws are normally smaller than normal case screws if that helps
take a picture of your case, so we can see whether or not it has a cage etc

i think you are supposed to use the plastic brackets on the drive and then they just slide in

Yeah I made sure of that. When I plug the jack in it asks me what I have plugged in so I say speakers and it says that its set up fine.
I think its something to do with whats plug in to what internally. But I dont know where to start

Right when I click the volume thing on the start bar and go the the mixer its showing as the SPDIF interface device is playing somthing but no sound from the speakers which I have plugged into the rear of the computer into the green jack (green being front speakers)
I think its a pretty simple problem but Im not sure quite what it is

windows vista?
If so if you click on the speaker icon and view the playback devices, you should be able to set the "primary" output.
