Building a track corsa and the next stage is I wanna fit throttle bodies. I am currently running an XE which I recently managed to bend some valves on, so while its getting sorted I thought I might aswell fit some tb's.

What type would be best to go for?
What management would people suggest?
Where is the best/cheapest place to make a purchase?

Cheapest is 2nd hand, no other options.

OR, if you want a brand new set put a wanted post on MIG. There's a chap that'll you do an entire SBD 208 kit inc MBE management for £1750 iirc (brand new)

Oh; Tapers for best gains/power
Management; choose whichever has a tuner near you/tuner that you trust to map the car

What sort of "DIY" would be involved? And what would be included in the kit?

Ditch bodies, ditch managment for the moment.

Get a quaiff box. Redtop powers fine, get better gear ratios, much much shorter. You will very rarley be trying to do over 120mph in a Corsa redtop on a track.

Box before bodies imo.

everything you need except the linkage from the throttle cable and the throttle bodies, can make one from a triangle of sheet metal for about £5.

Cool, so any reputable tuner should be able to tweak the base map?!

No. Go on migweb and pm 'steveboyslim' about an LSD. He'll get you one cheaper than anyone else could, and your car will be amazing Don't worry about the ratios for the moment.

You running an LSD yet dave? I imagine it would be a HUGE help on an XE corsa. Better find a new head before I decide on any more purchases.

Closer ratios. You don't need a £7k straight cut box.

I think Quaiff do a 6sp conversion for the F20, much closer ratios, will improve lap times better initially than TB.

Suspension, diff, box, engine tuning last.

No, its a very different mapping system to most but I have now mapped a few and they have been fine, once you get your head around it. Any mapper will find it tricky at first but then you realise its actually a fantastic system.

I have mapped 2 gotechs now, fantastic bit of kit.
