i currently have my ps3 wired into dvd player via red white cables but only get 2 channel and not 5.1 when comes through as an aux input from dvd player, would an optical cable fix this or do i need summat else?
options for 5.1 are selected but to no avail, and even when playing dvds it says on ps3 bar its in 5.1, but because coming through as aux on dvd, its only 2.1 channel?

Pro Logic 2 is 5.1, you can use the RCAs for that, but needs to be decoded in the amp. Erm use the digital if the amp has that as it'll come through Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1 i think...

so if i use optical cable it should work?
when dvd player on aux setting it comes in 2 channel?
