Would a fucked Catalyst put your emissions through the roof?
My car failed on thursday as the first test came out as
Fast Idle : 1.38
Second test at 0.75
Got told by one place it could be anything, another said if it's that bad it will be the cat?

you got the full emissions copy?
guessing that the 1.38 is the co level, what is lambda and hc level at?
also what engine is it?
if the cat was knackered your hc and lambda level would be quite high
probably just a coolant temperature sensor, also worthwhile shotting a fuel conditioner in it aswell

This is the best thing Ive ever read! I was shitting myself that my cat might have gone, but my HC and Lamda readings were fine.
I also today replaced my collant temp sensor, I dindt know this might be related! Fingers crossed it passes...
