hello all

i know some of you are running stretched tyres - where did you get them fitted??

i have tried my local fitters (but not quick fit or places like that - i don't trust them not to muller my rims)

i've been told they can only be fitted using special equipment - my mobile tyre fitter couldn't do them?

any names of companies to try would be appreciated

whats a streched tyre!!!

is a normal tyre on a wider rim, any tyre machine will work

i thought that, but apparently they need some machine that pulls the base of the wall out to the rim...

i'm looking at 165/50/15 on 7j rims...

can't find anyone who does them tbh.

that would be stretched, too steched

i had a mobile tyre fitter come and try, but he couldn't do it...

the 165 stretch is pretty 'standard' on vag motors - i don't get where all these people get them fitted

i need the stretch for max rear arch clearance... soon to be 90mm

tell him to fit the tyre backwards, i had a bloke explain it to me, as otherwise your tyring to pull the profile over the rim and it will just rip the tyre, fitting it in reverse allows it to slide over the edge of the rim apparently

as far as i know anywhere will do but they dont like to as its not seen to be "safe" and in this blame culture everyone tries to protect themsleves. i've heard of high st places doing it providing a form signed agreeing removing fault from the fitter i can well believe they are using that as an excuse of not doing the work. if Dan is right (and i cant see why not) then should be easily fitted
