I have a 1.6 SXI and it has no go whatsoever

I was in a situation last night where i was on a Dual carriage way doing 60/70mph when this bellend from my area in a corsa 1.2 8V was so close i couldn't see his headlamps.

Me being me, I thought the best way to sort it was to put my foot down and pull in to the slow laneas soon as i could to let him pass. I droped from 5th to 4th and nothing substancial happened

It was to a degree that he carried on tailgaiting me while i was accelerating

Also, my car Idles really low sometimes and tries to stall itself. It's anoying me now for a few reasons;

1) Fuel economy rarely goes over 20mpg

2) It tries to stall itself (as mentioned)

3) I got the car hoping it would be better on motorways for quick bursts than my corsa sport 1.4- seeing as it's much more expensive to insure

4) It's proggressively getting worse

Any Ideas to what's wrong/ what can be done to sort it guys?

Sounds like you have a blockage, or your not getting any fuel something along those lines.

Blocked filter?
Misfiring?
Plugs tight, HT leads on correctly?

Had it serviced when I got it which was around 5 Months ago

-Dunno if fuel filter was changed (probably not)
--doesn't seem to be misfiring
-Coil pack seems ok, dunno about about plugs tbh
-I've usedfuel treatment to no avail

I want to avoid taking it to be Tech2'd to be honest- I'm not made of money

The lads corsa is an 8v because a similar situation rose when i had the corsa and there was no problems
Plus he's put a turbo whistle on it

Thats why i miss my corsa

CAT seems fine because it failed an MOT a couple of years ago one emissions so it got a new one

It could be an ECU problem but i can't afford to put it on tech2.

My astra is a 16v
