I had a random idea this afternoon at work, would it be possible to put
a head off a corsa b 1.2 16v and put it on a 1.2 8v? Just a thought

no, the engines are completely different, you'd find less problems putting a 1.4/1.6 16v head on one.

so either a 1.4/1.6 16v would work? aren't most 1.4/1.6 16v eco teks, or does it depend on the year of car?

You cant put a 16v head on a 8v block, without complete hassle. It's completly pointless as it'll proberly be cheaper if you bought a whole 16v engine.

so how hard would it be to put a 1.4 or 1.6 8v head on a 1.2 8v, and what would happen?

You'll just have bigger ports, so slighty more fuel would get in for more power. But I don't think it would be noticeable.

If your gonna do anything, you may as well get the old head ported and polished for what its worth.

You can, the blocks are the same, the only problem would be the pistons.
The 2 litres all share the same block, as do the small engines (bar the chain driven ones)

But the 1.2 8v being SPI and the 16v being MPI I would of thought it'll be a complete ball ache to do?

the 1.2 8v an 16v are completely different, it would be easier to swap engines.
