As robin says if you are running with forced induction then the standard ECU just wont be able to tell what the manifold pressure is as soon as it comes on boost because the sensor cant read anything above atmospheric pressure.
Standalone management is the only way to go with a project like this

So basically it will run on standard, remap will sort it but standalone management would be best

I have seen turbo converted engines that have died within hours of being built due to people not using a good map.
not enough fuel will lead to increased cylinder temps, this in turn can massively promote pre-ignition. as little as 3 seconds of pre ignition even under light load can kill an engine.

Some peoples answer top this is to run the engine with the wastegate open so minimal boost just to get them to the place to do the mapping but often a standard N/A map with low comp internals will struggle to run well.

Agree with what is said by Robin. Running on standard management is a bit silly.
The only way to go if your gonna do it properly and reliably is by using aftermarket management.

So your planning on running it on completely std ecu/fuel pressure etc?
It will be melted the first time you see some boost as the ecu has no way of adjusting fuelling for the extra fuel required.
You need some dodgy fuel pressure regulator to dump extra fuel in with positive pressure, or proper management.
Theres no other way to really doing it without a melt down.
You wont be able remap the std ecu to run it correctly either, as the ecu is just not designed to receive a positive pressure on the map sensor signal.

my point is that how come dbilas and countenay do it? The engine I bought was runny on a standard ecu (probs been mapped) and was fine since it was fitted about 7 years ago.

They have a generic software written for sure and I think they limit the the boost to minimum as they havea guarantee on work and parts they would be safe ! even there bhp figures are not too high

The way they do it is write a file which dumps a load of fuel in when the car would come on boost at full throttle, say 3000rpm, so when it's on full boost, the fuelling is right.
The only problem with that is that at part throttle at the same revs, it'd be pretty rich.
Either that or they use a mappable 5th injector setup, which is sort of ok but not really ideal.
