Has the cambelt been done?

Interiors in the ph1's aren't very good.

Every bit of trim will rattle, parts aren't cheap.

Phase ones are quicker than phase 2's due to the fact they are lighter.

Great value for money at the moment only mugs opt for 106 GTi's over these tbh!

Looking at selling my 182 at the moment for a comuting car always tempted to punt 2k into a phase 1 maybe for a ring car one day?

Dont listen to all the french jobes they are just as reliable as any other car but beware servicing aint cheap but find a decent specialist and you are laughing!

Steering wheels wear quite bad but other than that interiors can last. My mates one is nudging 85k and doesnt rattle much. only when you hit a pot hole ridden road is it noticeable.

Drive one and decide for yourself as they do not float everyones boat.

I couldnt recomend one enough to anyone personally

They aren't as common because they look mega dated and the interiors are just as bad.

having owned both a ph1 and ph2 i will say the ph 1 is better driving the ph 2 better comfort and extras!

My ph 1 was heavily modded so cant gauge a standard one but the general feel of the car compared my ph2 was so much more raw and such a better feed back from the car.

If you want a car like that then as above would be a fool to go for anything else really!

But if you want a more up to date comfier car then the ph2 wins it by far!

going from a ph1 to a ph2 the difference inside was nothing short of shocking, its clearly dated and not so many extras and not so comfy.

But as you say money is an ish then the ph1, especially that particular one cant be grumbled at!

Any more questions i will try and answer!

The water pumps rarely fail, the cambelt makes up for it though.

Don't let the haters put you off, it is the most fun you will have in a car !

Angelworks can do belts and tensioners everything in about 3 hours tops
