My 8GB is awesome for battery. If I don't use the radio/music player it'll last for about 5 days 
I turn it off at night though BTW....

5 days? Jesus.
If I have a phone call about half hour long I loose a couple of bars. If I text a fair bit through the day I have to charge it at night or it won't last the next day. So I just charge it every night now as I keep running out towards the end of the night, which is bad as I need it for work (night shift)

My 8GB battery isnt bad either really, as long as you dont use the external speakers it lasts a good 3 days or more, not turned off at night.
Apps - not really got round to anything, but I got the YouTube app and I put N-Gage on there but dont want to pay for nay games so fairly pointless
