I find a full tank can get me 350 and that's having a bit of fun and all

Had mine for two years and only real problem ive had is emissions in both it's MOT's but easily fixed.

Pretty solid personally, just as fir3vip3r said, top up with oil when needed and should be sorted

I had the 1.4 in my sport and ran like a dream. Going through oil was an issue though and the rocker gasket went three time while I had it

I think mine was up on power compared to a few other cars I had a play with

they are tunable but you need to spend big money to get the same bhp as a 1.6,

inlet, cams, remap etc and then it will be about 120-125bhp

Don't waste your time. Get the 1.6 instead. The amount of money you spend getting the 1.4 to the same level of power isn't worth it.

I have a 1.4 16v and i love it too, just put an inlet on it and it goes like a dream, no problems with it, just the usual service bits an pieces, and some ancillary bits tensioners ect. Great fun imo, cheap insurance, cheap to fuel if driven correctly

insurance is a killer on a 1.6 compared to a 1.4 though

Did you not comprehend the amount you'd spend on making the 1.4 as quick as a 1.6 can actually be spent on insurance? And you'll get better MPG also.

Speak to JR on here, he had a quick 1.4, ask how much it cost to do that. Also speak to Robin, who did both. He'll also tell you to start with the 1.6

right i had one for 1 1/2 years covered a good 24k in one...only changing the oil every 6000 and replacing front discs and pads n tyres (onto new alloys)... it didnt EVER skip a beat...but it had been looked after well before me so was setup good! from start...nice car's...just enough poke to make it a very fun good...lower it on some good quality springs and dampers (bilstein b10) and get some good tyres and its brillant...i really enjoyed mine untill it was killed by a bmw 520 estate (
