Still cheaper, work it out:
800 bensons here costs around 180 quid...
20 quid ferry ticket, 20 quid petrol, 101 quid for 800 bensons total being 141.
Thats a saving of 39 quid and if you buy 1600 bensons while on the ferry thats a saving of 110 quid approx.
Therefore its a damn site cheaper

Nope, wrong again mate, P&O do a trip called a car park shopper, you drive on the ferry, park up, goods delivered to your car in calais, you stay onboard and enjoy the bar and fruit machines. The price i qouted for bensons is in the shop onboard the ferry, you do not get off the ferry until you return back to dover.

Yes, that may be true, but think of the money i save doing this, i know it would be cheaper not to smoke but this works out best:
An average smoke will smoke 20 ish a day at 4.50 a pack
this works out to 1642.50 a year
Going to france to buy them will work out at 921.12
a saving of 721.38
Take of travel expenses and you still have a massive saving and just think of what you can buy with the money you save

Majority of the british public dont have private healthcare or have their own pensions at the moment. State pensions are being phased out at the moment anyway, but the extra cash goes on better schooling, defence, roads, etc. And if you ever go to the US, the main roads may be fairly good quality, but the rest of them are fuckin awful!
for starters I lived in the us for 18months in 2 states and 3 different locations, main connections roads are fantastic, and fair enough the back streets arnt upto the same standard but they arnt as bad as some of the shite u find over here, (have u driven in Southampton)
Secondly the number of people with private health care/pensions is ever rising, and in the not too distant future, medium term (especially with the state of the nhs at the mo and reduction in pensions) the the vast majority of people will have no other choice
Im not moaning about the country tho, It has its good side but as with newhere else it ahs its bad sides
