Currently got a 1.4 16v lowered 35mm on 195/45/16's with a front strut brace. Handling is really good.

Now really thinking about the 2ltr conversion, but just wondered how its going to handle? Would have new sus once the 2ltr was in prob down about 40mm again and the same wheels on. Is it going to get round the corners??? Or what would be the best thing to do with the sus to make it handle well??

Because the 2.0l 16v engine will have to sit lower in your engine bay via the new engine mounts it will need - you'll have more low down weight. There for a lower center of gravity making your car corner better if anything. Along with additional lowness and better suspension (as you stated) your car will handle very well. To top things off, a front and rear strut brace would tighten the average Corsa chassis making it nice and solid for even better handling.
Just to take the esplination of the engine wieght helping further:-
As everyone well knows the Impreza turbo is one of the best handling cars on the road. What Subaru did with the engine is cock it forward so that in effect the engine is laying down in the engine bay. Then they sat it as low as they could and put all the lighter components to the top. This vastly improved corner because of the heavy 2.0l lump having all its weight as close to the floor as possible - lower centre of gravitiy - better handling. The new engine mounts needed to fit the 2.0l to the Corsa are also set lower in the engine bay giving, to a certain extent, the same effect. A front, upper strut brace would be very helpful with the 2.0l to help the engine bay hold the new, heavier engine.
You can pick up cheap suspension kits for around £200 but your much better of paying a touch extra for a set of Koni adjustables or Koni coilovers. Avo do a cheap set of coilovers for the Corsa at £500.

hehehe. i like the sound of that. i guess a 2.0 turbo would have a simular effect, then again isnt the turbo quite high in the engine bay. are they heavy though?

do you have to get custom suspension, or can you use things like koni designed for a gsi?

Not really, you just use good aftermarket suspension for the Corsa I would have thought. Koni, Bilstein, H&R, Avo...

u need the correct poundage springs on the front or it will handle crap. either get coilovers with custom springs or a decent suspension kit also with custom springs

apart from the fact the 2l weighs shit loads more than the 1.4 that theory might work, you will get loads more under steer as with a 2l conversion than a 1.4 mate as it will be front heavy handling will never be as good.

as far as i know you have to remove the front antirole bar to get a 2l in aswell.

nope, thats not true, u get the anti-roll bar kit fitted n this sorts it. If u dont get this kit the the anti roll bar will catch on the manifold. - the kit just makes the anti roll bar sit lower

no it wont handle better as Kris pointed out the 2 litre weighs a hell of a lot more plus u cant use ur existing strut brace with a 2 litre conversion cos of clearance probs. Also you are only on lowering springs u will need uprated dampers also otherwise it will handle like a bag of nails

No, ive got a full lowering kit, springs and gas dampers, best i could get for £400 notes. Will upgrade tho if/when the 2ltr goes in.

lower Tie bar, leave the antiroll bar, as its alot better grip and handling
