You'll get the folk who are loyal smallblock fans who will say the X14XE... But it depends on your budget? You'll spend a fucking FORTUNE getting a 1.4 anywhere near as quick as an XE.

Like JR said you can't compare these engines. Go with the c20xe imo.

Id stick a 1.6 in for good in between choice.

Cause by the time you'd get the X14XE anywhere decent, you could have saved money putting a 1.6 in for same power etc.

But course choice is yours

c20xe because it's only 30 kg's heavier than a x16xe, so put battery in the boot - about 15kg's and fibre glass wings etc and it'll be only about 10kg's heaqvier at the front.

how thick do you need the cable to be for a battery to be moved to the boot

i just used a 4gauge power lead on mine, works fine.

and i'd put a redtop in mate, no point in messing with a 1.4 really will havent spent loads of money trying to get power out of it and you will still be nowhere near that power of a redtop, there is a reason this engine a popular choice
