it more more in referance to a slighty beer ecourged chat i had with Ian and matth about the diffrences one night at traxs

but the small turbos have smalled more rounded mirrors, and the fuel cap behind a flap on the 1/4 panel, as apose to a external one

looks awesome with the big spolier. i heard a story from a ford nut about when police used to use them. they would take the rear spoiler off to try and disquize the car ( fuck knows why) but anyway it affected handling rather a lot at top end speeds.? maybe true i dont care nice little story.

My dad used to own a white escort cosworth small turbo which was an ex-police car. It used to belong to humberside police, i will find a pic now.

Nope they are the same car. It had a private plate on it when my dad got it. It was supposed to go back to the original plates but dvla issued it a new registration.

Small turbos have filler flap, not a cap where the key inserts into.

The door mirrors where different also.

Also the registration obviously.

They made just over 2500 big turbos before they made the small turbo which run on different management.


Regarding outrunning a stock escort cosworth police car. Pretty easy really..

They only did 0-100 in 16secs.

Even 300bhp only did 0-100 in late 12 secs from a standing start, even slower rolling start as the transmission losses on 4wd are high.
