Uni computers have MS, I refuse to pay for it (not acquiring it either) so have OO. Ive tried saving my spreadsheet in OO and its saved as a .ODS. In Save As ive tried selecting Excel 2003 (xml) format but it suffers a write error.
I dont have the option of installing the translator or OO on uni computers, what else can I do?

XML is a 2007 format. I work on a new machine at work, yet the Excel file is bloody 2000-2003 or what ever it is. Right pain in the arse if you click 'Yes' by mistake to saves as XML

Don't your Uni give out free software? I know that my Uni used to give out free MS Software, as they had a massive licence for it.
