ok so that time hase come and yes it failed AGAIN this year
a few wee silly things, bulbs horn and so on
also needs a tiny bit of weldin(getting done)
the thing that has got me is they say my steerin colum needs replaced however i got a m8 (my regulare mechanic) to have a look and he recons that the play they thought would be a replaced steerin colum is actualy fucked shockies and a ball joint
do you think this could be the case?? its booked for a retest on wed mornin next week
any help or questions let me know

Nope if it was fucked ball joint then they would have put down (lower ball joint has exccesive play) or sumin

but wat about fucked shockies, they give a bit of play when there fecked??

Take it to another mot place see what they say then confront the first with the second result if its to your advantage ,if not take it to a third or replace steering parts.

depends on where and how the play is mate.Could be ball joint,hub or top mount or even the shocker itself.Like i say,all depend on if the play is top to bottom,left to right,in or out or all!

A fucked shocker won't give the mechanic a idea to replace a coloumn.

Maybe there is excessive play felt on the steering coloumn itself, grab the steering wheel and wobble it around, any play >

Also, if he is using the wheel to check for play, if you have power steering you will fell a slight movement unless the pump is working/running.

ok i took it to another garage 2day so that 3 mechanics and 2 of them have said that i need to replace my shockies and my pass side ball joint
so gonna give this abash and put it back in for mot see what happens
