Spot on son, did the fluid just leak out of the pump once you removed it all? And what caps did you use?
i got some caps from earls performance when they came over to pipe up my oil system.
the fluid will leak out, and then when you lock the steering over itll leak out the rack, wont do it for long.
easy to do ollie

As in screw on caps?
You feeling the benefit, because the one thing that pissed me off out on track in the Corsa was the lack of feel coming from the steering, was awful.

WTF are you talking about to start with?
You have EPS, you have best of both worlds. EPS is very very good, PAS on the GSi and Sports is rubbish.

So you don't recommend doing this with the engine in? I can't see it being that bad?

i understand caping the where your fluid will be, but it's not even that essestial, once the rack is dry..it's dry
so basically just remove the pump and hoses and your sorted.
and can someone finally answer, is a pas rack run dry better than a nonpas rack?
cause i got told less turns in the pas rack run dry, so it'd be better.

I think Gervais (fro-dizzle) just had no fluid in his and it was fine. As the xe melted one of the PAS hoses and he never put fluid back in it
But if you take out all the bits it will be alot tidier and you can save some weight
