Needed an mp3 player for the car, didn't have to be anything fancy at all because it will be hidded away and never seen.

Looked on ebay, found a couple of 8gig ones, won an auction for an 8gb ipod looking thing for £13.

Wasn't expecting it to be anything special but as long as it played mp3's.

Got it through, build quality was shoking but no worse than expected, played mp3's, thought that'll do the job nicely.

Started copying all my songs across, all went ahead fine as far as I could see.

Sat looking through albums in the car noticed that it didn't seem to be showing up the full collection.
Connected it back up to the computer, all t he folders I added were there

Done a bit of further digging, it has a 16 gigabit memory chip which is 2 gigabytes

They just flash them to look like 8gb, I've heard of it happening but have now seen it first hand.

I've emailed the guy and he's already offered a partial refund but told him to gtf I want it all back

Summary, don't buy an 8gb mp3 player off ebay for under £30 because an 8gb flash chip alone costs about 20 quid, so any cheaper and it will be a fake

I hope he's gonna get a tasty negative feedback, seeing as he can't retaliate.

People like that rely on buyers not bothering to return the items and get their money back. Scummer
