Can't describe it any better than the music sounds garbled and the lyrics are very quiet.

Resetting it, updating software etc are to no avail, still does it.

It looks like i'll either have to take it to the 1 apple store in glasgow or one of their service providers?

Can I get it picked up from the house?
I don't want to register for the online bit unless I really have to.

Any help apple geeks?

I wouldn't think so, it sounds more like its electronically garbled, whatever it is it needs to go to apple anyway, I just want to do that whatever way I have to do as little as possible.

The other nano in the house also has a fault that it'll be getting sent back for.

I had nearly decided to buy one because as much as I hate itunes I like the shape of the 3rd gen nano.
