I was just reading a thread further down about 60mm on standard shocks? Is it safe to do so, what would handling be like? How long will the shocks last?
I always thought it was a bad idea?

Im not going to do it but I just saw it mentioned an thought it wasn't right.
Isn't there only something like 5mm travel left in the shock at 60mm?

i found 60mm spax springs on standard sport shocks really comfy tbh.

slightly boaty but you'd expect that i guess. certainly better than i thought they'd be!

i think the problem is how compressed the springs are and if your travel is etended up fully the springs can rattle around in their seat or in extreme circumstances fall out.....

as alot of people said you don't get the best ride and is a cheap mod.

I have 60mm springs on standard shocks. Its abit bouncy at times but its only for a short time until i get my new suspension.

But it looks good and the rider isnt too bad. As for safety, must be safe mine just passed its MOT.

There are no shocks on the market suited for a 50-60mm drop for road use.
