I'm after some more RAM for my home PC. I've got an Asus P5k motherboard. I want to take it up to 8GB (Why?, because i want to)
Whats the best stuff to go for? I use it for gaming, a bit of photoshop.
Taken from Asus.com, about my MoBo
"4 x DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR2 1066*/800/667 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
*The chipset officially supports the memory frequency up to DDR2 800MHz. Tuned by ASUS Super Memspeed Technology, this motherboard natively supports up to DDR2 1066MHz
Please refer to www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL.
**When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended."i]
Edit - I'm using a 64bit OS BTW

Not sure what this refers to
ASUS Super Memspeed Technology
But its probly just some crap software. I personally would stick to 4 x 2GB sticks of DDR800 (DDRII400) of good memory, if you really want to splash out get some RAM that has low CAS Latency timings
