My uncle has a black 52 plate 2.2 sri with irmscher grill.
Looks the bollocks.
Very cheap to buy, averages about 30 mpg but he only works a mile away and knocks about town so engine never really in proper use.
Hasnt had anything go wrong with it in the year he has had it.
Very good valuve for the money!

Chain belt engines prone to going wrong, jules's Astra coupe 2.2 has had some expensive to cure problems, and they are very thirsty engines too, infact worse than the Z20LET

Not sure about the C engines though, but the B engines were common for snapping chains at 50k

same engines arent they? something to do with the oil jet to the chain get clogged or is too restrictive or something

If its a 2.2 direct then there bad for fuel pumps goin after 30-40k my brothers is on its 3rd

i have had 2 vec b sri 2.2s now good cars but get the timing chain and balancer chain done and it will be sound bud , and as for the fuel am getting 35 mpg with mines and close on 40 on motorway runs

vectra 2.2 i found was very dissapointing powerwise. If i remember rightly the earlier 2.2 sri's didnt have twin exit exhaust pipes.
