i own a 1.2 8v vegas and it wont rev over 4000 rpm any ideas

do you have an eml on that? sounds like its in "limp home" mode due to an electrical fault......sensors or something.

or maybe blackage in the exhaust, prob CAT breaking up. take the cat off and then try it maybe a bit loud thou!! or also check the air filter!

The CAT on your car will be part of teh down pipe iirc

is the EML on?

no the cat is underneath the car. i think it unbolts so you just have the manifold and down pipe. it will be loud!! but see what happens. the CAT usually breaks down causing a blockage.

no EML light came on are there any pics of the cat i aint to botherd about noise it makes

no pics but the cat is the first box on the exhaust it should simply come off on its own. take it off then give it a rev. it will be VERY loud but see what happens. this is typical what happens to an old cat. worth a check!

no it should just work as normal rev to redline. but if not then you know its electrics im a mechanic so can help you on this side but otherwise your stuck!!

yes it will if the cars logged any fault! but it may have logged a fault a while back and tell you the wrong thing.

moddin it if i get it but would prefer the 1.2 if i can get it fixed as my wife is on the insurace with only a provitionol

well ive been told if you fit a 1.6 8v cam, inlet manifold and throttle body it keeps up with the 1.4! im getting my arse to a scrappy to get these bits soon!
