Careful with that one mate, lots of Fiesta's with just lady owners get neglected because they don't understand maintenance so they just drive it and have no idea about checking the oil etc. Obviously that's not the same for every single one, but it isn't uncommon.

how would i know if its been neglected, ie run low on oil, would the engine sound rough?

Just check service history etc and make sure there is no knocking and taps or crunchy gears yadda yadda.

Every Fiesta I looked at had mayonnaise on the oil filler, check that. Also dark smoke when being started/revved from cold.

Exactly, imo it's hardly a selling point at all in a majority of cases.
You can still get a ZS, just give it a good checking over

You could get a Civic, but I'm not sure how great insurance will be with little low claims etc. I know for me on a 1.5 with 0NCB was £1700

i no people arnt stuck on the looks, but i think the pumas are brilliant to drive.
Quicker than a zetec s, handle brilliantly, and even with serveral flat out blats on the dua carridge ways, over the last few days, ive still average 35 to gallon nocking about town!
Average 42 last tank,very good on fuel
Just insurance is stupid on them, very expensive.
Which being young? I would say get the zetec s as it was about 500 quid cheaper than the puma to insure

There's some mk4 Golf's on AT but most of them are 1.4 for that price and the 1.6's are a bit higher mileage.
There's loads of 2000 onwards Ibiza's as well but they're 1.4 as well

I bought a nice lady owner low mileage Nova GSi a few years back as a replacement for my Nova GTE.
Worst thing I ever had, it looked nice and it seemed like it had been looked after but something about it was just wrong, i'd rather have something that may have had a little ragging but has been well looked after.
