right ive been giving this some thought lately and was thinking about taking 1 or 2 years out and going around the world. im 18 ill be 19 when i leave, and tbh theres not much here for me anyway, once my mum is married shes moving to suffolk, (i am in plymouth) and at the mo im not too sure on what i want in life. anyone been traveling for a long time? my plan was to sell my car and save 1-2k and that should be plenty monies for 2 years if i get jobs aswell! when im 21 i get a insurance payout too so that would pay for a car when im back.

anyhelp and advice would be brilliant!
cheers.

Could be expensive depending on how much of the world you actually want to see. Ive had mates that have done the 1-2yr traveling thing, all seemed to love it. Most just farted about in one/two contries though not around the world.

May as well do it while you've got nothing to lose.

These vids might inspire you a bit.

Im doing the same, getting a one way ticket to either oz (becasue i know it, and its a good starting point) or somewhere in asia.

All im going to do is keep aside around £400 for a flight home, wherever i am, that should be sufficent.
I'm really bored of england and lack of exciting things as you get older. I also believe there's better living to be had in other countrys also better/different career propects.

Oh and i have a taste for exotic women

Usually if you stay more than a year, but before that time you would have moved on to the next country.

You need a working visa if you plan to work in some countries to support yourself. I know Aus/NZ you do.

I'm doing the same as Colin.

Had a pretty good start to my career so don't really want to leave my job and go travelling.

Just going to have a few decent holidays.

Do it while you can. I've quite a few friends who have done a bit of travelling. One is about to come back after 14 months, think he is currently in Mexico. Also don't get teh year working visa to Oz if you arn't going to use it, think you can get shorter ones, and you can only use the year one once. Got a friend who is off to cambodia and that late Jan, cheap as anything once you get to places like that.

Not sure where abouts mate, as they travelled all over Australia. No previous mining experience - one worked in call centers & other one was a plumber!!
