tbh the only other civic id have is the jdm ep3 same shape what gavin has. it has abit more bhp, been in the land of the rising sun and has lsd! and lastly comes in the best colour..... champ white!

If you can live without championship white get a uk one and put in an LSD and remap it with an exhaust and filter and you will see about 220 to 230 bhp (depending on if you get a manifold too). And the power will have a much better curve then standard and JDM ones

Can be done for less or equal to the cost of a JDM too

Thats what I am doing

i suppose it depends what your looking for in a car and you should test drive both.

i would personally choose the ep3 as i never do trackdays, handles well enough for me in standard form, very nippy and most importantly much better suited to everyday driving.

also its worth remembering the ek9 is going to have alot less low down/out of vtec grunt and the close ratio 5 speed box could prove a pain on motorways

Valid point, always felt the corsa 1.6 should have a 6th gear for motorways as i do alot more commuting now due to gf in uni.......

if you're after a JDM EP3, why not just get a DC5 integra? i'm slightly biased but they're basically the same car apart from the DC5 looks better (IMO)

but at the same time, mine does 70 at 4.5k and is fucking loud can't really comment on the EK9, i think i remember reading its the same S80 box as the import DC2 (4.4 final drive as opposed to my 4.7 FD on the UK one)

I was in the very same position as yourself mate when it came to buying a car for the missus, I told her about the EK9 civic but there are 2 lookalikes about my area and there just a bit old lookin now imo

She didnt really like the look of the pre-face lift EP3's as they looked very dull so the better option was the facelift one

I gotta admit I wasnt a honda fan and i'm still getting use to the very low torque figure compared to my last to cars but once on the boil (vtec lol) its a bloody quick car and the handling on hers is pretty outstanding as its been lowered slighty
