Heathrow is running at 99% capacity, and has been for quite a few years, a plane takes off or lands every 90 seconds.
Heathrow is a hub airport like shcipol Dusseldorf and Paris, all of these airports are bigger and are leaving us behind, the expansion is essential for our economy too grow, if we dont people just wont bother using uk airports for transfers etc and we will be even further behind the other big players in europe with our economy etc.

Hence why more decent trasportation to City centre, and the north, via HSR links.
190mph on a train is quite cool tbh, and lots more room, and easier than an aircraft, and 15 min checking Vs 2 hours......
Which is what we've been talking about if you read.
Stanstead isn't THAT much further from the city centre than HEathrow, its just outside the M25 and Heathrows just inside.
Good debatable topic this.

Standsted express is 30 mins into Liverpool Street IIRC...
Gatwick Express is 30 mins into London Bridge...
Good going that even with todays mockery of a rail system.

Heathrow is accesible via the Tube. It has better links, easily. Time is money. And yes, Stanstead really is that much further away. Have you ever been on the M11? It's shocking.

No, i've never been up the M11 ever. I mean I live in NW Kent, used to go to all the shows, corsa meets oop north, drive to cambridge for work etc.
But never been up it
The M11 is fine now. It was just the M25 junction that screwed it, but thats all fine now too.
RE Heathrow transport, as i've already said, read the post, already covered
