My phone went in for repair 2 weeks ago. Had no contact to say its ready to be collected.
My mum called in the shop today and said 'we came in and brought a phone back, its been sent off for repair, is it back yet?'
The woman said what name - mum told them
They said yes, we will go and check.
Came back with MY phone and handed it over.
Didnt ask for ID, didnt ask for the model of the phone or anything Just my surname and made her sign a sheet to say she has had it back.
Mum didnt take the paper work with her as she forgot it, hence randomly calling in.
Should i go in with my paperwork and ask for MY phone
Mum could have been anyone signing it.
Plus i signed for it to be taken in for repair.

Your mum should have signed something on collection to say it is out of their hands too.

She did. But she could have been anyone.
They didnt even ID her
Do they give phones out on the basis you know someones surname?

Call them and ask if the phone that belonged to your Vietnamese veteran grandad, bought with his very last pennies as a present before he died, has been repaired.

Yeah but then your phone will get blacklisted and you won't be able to use it?

Worth a try. Although as Graham says, it'll probably be blocked

No, why make an issue out of it.
Your mum, or anyone else for that matter, would have had to have known the phone was in being repaired in the first place. She'd have probably kicked up a stink if they never gave her it back without id.
