the Nikon MBD200 is £150 with out any cells, this is cheaper, are they known to be crap though?

Surely for an extra 30 or 40 quid you'd be better off with an official one?

the offical one is £30 more but then Id have to buy more batterys for it, you get a battery with that one

Can you use the official one with only one battery?

I think my grip is actually more useful in making the camera easier to use than the extra battery power it provides.....

The Nikon MBD200 is £99 at jessops, had a look for a customer yesterday, hammersmith are the only store stocking them at the moment tho!

Ive got a cheapo battery grip on my 400D i got off ebay. Half the price of the canon one and does all the same stuff. It just doesnt say Canon on it, think it was just under £50

Agree with aPk on the easier to use thing, ok shooting portrait isnt exactly hard but its much more natural with the grip compared to without. Oh and with my 17-55mm F2.8 IS lens on it feels perfectly weighted.
