Just out of interest, are cheap universal induction kits proven to be all that bad? Like if you have one with a similar design to a K&N obviously the K&N will probably flow better but is there that much difference in how the air is filtered or is it mainly down to brand names that makes them more pricey? Can't see how they can be drastically poor. I had a cheap £20 induction kit on my old GSi until the day I sold it and it was sound. Cleaned it a few times and was as good as anything.

They are nearly all worse than a regularly changed paper filter.

just use a pair of ya mum tights! |(or ya own lol) much better airflow haha, or if you are actually after performance then just get a fresh filter for the standard box

i had a pipercross on mine when i bought it and it made the engine really sluggish, is there any way of cleaning it without buying the cleaning kit???? i bought another filter for £10, one that tightens a jubilee clip round the pipe, it fell off no matter how tight so i want my pipercross back on

My sister has one of them Max Power cone filters on her Clio, hasn't caused any problems and I doubt a big name like K&N, Pipercross etc would be any better for the car.
