Marc - Anfield 100% cant host international matches, so Im guessing that included WC games too. Would guess a few of that list cant either.

its not just about size. you need good amenities too

not alot of grounds are upto code!!

I guarantee the 4 star stadiums can be made 5 by doing something simple like increasing the distance between dressing rooms or making the corridor from the dressing room to the pitch bigger.

I would imagine the following grounds to be suitable and qualify?

Emirates
Old Trafford
Wembley
KC Stadium
Villa Park
Pride Park
St Marys
Madejski stadium
St James' Park?

Not all to do with size, most of those have good transport links, modern stadiums with facilities to match etc. Be interesting to see a list of grounds that fit the criteria though.

I thought about Millenium but as we were only listing English stadiums!!

couldn't we use Twickenham? Not sure how much it holds but looks big on the telly..... they allowed to play football there? I thought they would have used this when they knocked Wembley down instead of Millenium

Apparently the local council have something to make sure football never gets played at Twickenham.
