surely if you hit something hard enough its going to break, take this photo for example. all i did was google for a broken wheel and this came up. it was on a lotus elise that crashed. are they the OE wheels?

I was thinking it was combination of hard braking and kerbing, part right I guess

end of the day, you buy a set of cheap wheels for your road car, and you smack something silly hard, they're gonna give. i'd rather the wheels took the impact then everything else they're attached to.
you get what you pay for etc. wouldnt stop me buying rota's, just wouldnt expect them to be up there with the big jap brands (yes, they are jap replica wheels all you vauxhall people).

I think someone should get a load of wheels and test them all properly as i dont beleive for 1 second that expensive means strong. What is fact though is if you have light 'track type' wheels they bend easily because they just dont have as much meat on them. There not light because there made of some amazing secret metal from an alien planet

yeah sorry my little rant doesnt really say what i mean, i mean like if you hit a kerb with any wheel regardless off cost i cant see it not breaking or bending. Stuff like that is designed to have some give in it, like some of the suspension components.

show me one hitting a curb at 30 mph with 1200kgs behind it not buckling.
edit - found some videos and there impressive but not what my argument is.
