I have a friend with an Astra Mk4 1.7 TDI with the GM engine.
he says he has a problem with the fuel pump, im after a part number so i can do a search for him on the internet to see if i can get hold of one for him.
vaux want 2k+ for one

You won't be able to get a 2nd hand one for cheap/if at all.
The Mk4 pumps need to be coded to the engine ECU via Tech2, hence the price.
Unless the 2nd hand pump has been de-paired from the car its come from and is in delivery mode, it will be absolutely useless.
