The 'bottom end' going is what killed my Corsa apparently, ive been googling but there isnt a lot of information on it. Is it a particular driving style that causes it or are some parts just weak from the factory and in essence its luck?

Driving with revs going up to the rev limiter in each gear with little/no oil also causes this.

So it isnt just generally revving the shit out of it that causes it, you do have to have to oil otherwise it would, generally, be fine?

That would explain it then, I used to go on short thrashes round Lincoln in the morning not realising at the time the sump had a hole in it Dipstick was still showing decent amounts of oil though, which was why I didnt pick up on it

Revving the shit out of it will cause it too. you could melt a piston, fuck the rings, rev it from cold and nail the bearings or you could snap/bend a conrod. If you drive it like a twat you could quite easily blow the bottom end.

Generally low oil will kill it too, but if it was ok on the dipstick then it should be fine.
