i am having trouble with thearths on my loom. i have printed off a layout for the pins in the ecu multi plug.
according to the sheet pin 2 should be the earth for the ignition pulse.
i have nothing in pin 2.
i would be a great help if you have a loom to hand if you could see if your pin 2 is blank. cheers

pins 1-19 are on the row with the most pins in and pin 1 is the furthest pin from were the wires enter the plug. cheers

have you checked the coil for a spark?

no spark. ecu light does not come on. fuel relay and pump do not operate unless i put a wire from earth to the small wires on the fuel relay.then the ecu light comes on. i have checked all the earths on the engine/ gearbox subframe/ fuel rail etc all seem fine. switch live and live ok.

have you checked all the wiring down in the footwell? not just the earths?

yes all the wiring is matched up colour for colour.
i have looked at a wiring diagram that shows that pin 36 on the ecu is a earth that activates the fuel pump relay. but in my multi plug in goes to pin 46 . i think what i need to do is have a look at a multi plug on a known good one.

sounds like a knackered fuel pump relay mate

ive tried a new one. i think the earth return wire brown/white isnt getting back to the correct pin on the ecu.
