anyway i can lower this at all??
(i currently have 2gb of ram and its constantly using 1gb of it)

so i would like a few ideas on how to lower it please

remove applications that you dont use that might be running in the background, disable processes, a general tidy up etc..

CTRL, ALT, DEL > Processes > Order by Mem Usage. Have a look for yourself where all your memory is being used

like nismo says! also check what programs run when your PC starts up, might be some shit there you dont need running from the start.

vista 64bit, and theres no specific reason why i need it lower until i come to use some of the adobe stuff.

Vista will give up the ram if something else requires it.

My freshly booted system was using 1.43 gig when I originally checked this post.

In Adobe you can change the amount of Ram it uses etc..

I'm only using the internet now and it's at 53% usage, 2gb, doesn't seem to affect anything

doesnt it show unused ram as used through the idle process or something, or is that just cpu usuage?
