I am wanting to paint my inlet manifold, possibly black, keeping with the theme:

or might paint it a nicer silver colour!
Either way, the same paint would be going on the rear drums, so would high temp paint be the way forward?

And also, would the inlet have to come off? And how easy is that? Just a case of undoing the couple of bolts I can see on the top? (probably not! lol)

Thanks

Wouldn't have thought you'd need high temp paint, but it wouldn't hurt.

And no, it's not just a case of those two bolts on top. Not familiar with those engines, but I'd imagine the manifold flange would be somewhere under those branches? If so, undo the bolts and take it off that way. You're also going to need to remove the throttle body and everything attatched.

Why don't you try to paint it as it is? If you do a good job it'll look just as good.

To remove it you have to Undo the Few Bolts on the Top,Take a Few Breather Hoses/Clamps Off & Remove the Brake Servo Pipe & Fuel Line i think.

Not hard though can be Removed in 5mins it just sounds alot.

I have a Chrome Inlet Manifold which would look Cool if your Intrested?

with a forced air induction would there be much more increase of power than having an ordinary air filter. Like noticable difference

I dont know if alan-g-w missed the point there, I was only asking about painting my standard inlet manifold, not on about an upgraded one!

And grimsby99 - forced air induction is also know as a turbo, so yes, there would be a big difference!!
However, if you were asking about my airbox, I noticed a difference in the way it drives, but not sure if it actually gave me an extra horse or two.....probably not!

An update!!
Took the manifold off:

very easy task actually! haha

And now I have:

Personally think it looks better! Done the drums at the same time too!:

All in all, a good day in the sun, and I only spent £10!!

Why wouldn't you understand that? I maybe should have said ports if we're wanting to be pedantic then.

And I got a bit confused when someone said 'just remove a few bolts on top' to get the manifold off. But can see from the pics that it's just a normal setup.
